Summerbridge teachers participate in an initial orientation and extensive training week as well as on-going training sessions. They will be trained by professional teachers in curriculum implementation, lesson planning, behavior management as well as assessment of learning. As many of them will not be of the same backgrounds as the students, members will be trained in appreciating diversity and celebrating differences. They are also trained in leadership skills as well as their rights and civic responsibilities as members of a democratic society.
