Donations FAQ & Help Page
Donations made through the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict Web site go directly to the partner organization conducting the project. Each partner has created an individual PayPal account to receive these funds.
We have created this page to provide donors with answers to some frequently asked questions about donating through EPCC. Skip to Help Section for questions about specific issues with your donation.
Where do the donations go?
All of your donations go directly to the organization you choose to support. Each registry item is associated with an organization, easily identified by the organization's name and logo. Upon checkout, your donations will be sent to the specified organization(s) to implement education programs in the region associated with the registry item or items you decided to support. We send the donations through a secured server to each organization(s) PayPal account which is directly linked to their bank account. None of the donations actually go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict -- we just help you to channel the funds.
Where do the Partner Projects come from?
All of our partners are leaders in their field. After a vetting process, our partners identify specific projects that could really use some additional support to serve the needs of children. They assess the local situation, develop a list of needs and costs, and then we work with them to format the projects for the registries.
All of our partners' registries are developed based on the on-the-ground needs at a given time assuming full, immediate funding and are subject to change due to the nature of implementing education programs in conflict and post-conflict areas. The Partners and the Education Partnership make a good-faith effort to ensure that the registries are updated periodically to best symbolically represent the needs of partners in the regions where they work.
Does EPCC collect any money or keep any fees?
All of the funds go directly to the partners. The Education Partnership does not process or keep any of the money. But please note, just like when you use a credit card to make any online transaction, there are credit card processing fees. These fees are collected by PayPal; the rate for our partners varies from 1.9% - 2.9% + $.30 USD per transaction based on their PayPal status.
One of your partners is an organization I care about and would like to donate -- but I can't find a project of theirs on your website. How can I donate to them?
We are working to feature all of our partners on our website to receive donations, but it's a work in progress. If you would like to support a partner whose projects are not yet listed on our site, visit their homepage (through the "Partners" section of the site) and make a donation directly through their website.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Your donations go directly to our partner organizations. Donations to partner organizations that are certified 501-c-3 organizations by the Internal Revenue Service are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
If I donate to more than one Partner Organization what will show up on my credit card?
Your credit card will show a line item transaction for each organization you donate to on the website. For instance, if upon checkout, you are donating to three organizations, your credit card statement will show three separate transactions, each for the amount indicated on your email receipt.
If I make a donation through this site will my information be added to the organization's donor and mailing list?
If you make a donation through our website, your information will be stored in our system for reference related to this donation only. You only will receive emails relating to the status of your transaction unless you opt into our e-Newsletter, allowing us to contact you periodically with updates. Your email will also go to the partner organization receiving the donation and they may contact you to thank you for your donation. They will not contact you with additional emails unless you opt into their email notifications.
If you don't take a cut on donations, how do you sustain yourself?
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict has received support from various organizations and foundations listed on our Partners and Funders page.
How do you ensure the organizations and projects on your site are quality?
We vet each and every member of our Partnership. Partners provide reports, stories, and testimonials from the field to update us on their progress. We use standards developed by the INEE to help determine whether an organization is doing quality work in education in conflict and post-conflict areas. Additionally, some of our partners engage in monitoring and evaluation to ensure that children are receiving the best education possible in these difficult situations.

What does it mean if a transaction fails?
Because donations to multiple organizations are processed as sequential transactions, it’s possible that if you hit a credit card limit while making donations to multiple organization a transaction may “fail.” If this occurs, you will receive an email notification. Please contact your credit card company to identify the problem and then retry your donation.
I made a mistake - whom do I contact about changing my donation information?
If you have an issue with your donation information, please contact Evan@educationpartnership.org.
I never received an email confirming my donation - does this mean something is wrong?
Well, this is probably because the email address had a typo. Please contact us and we will get to the bottom of this and let you know if the transaction was processed or not.
