Start a Fundraiser
See the quick and easy how to slide show or read the steps below.
(I've already read all this - just take me to the form!»)
Step 1 - Make a donation & activate your EPCC account
Starting a group begins with your own donation to the partner project of your choice. Not only does this kick-start your total, it sets an example for your members and donors to follow. You can donate as little as $5 to get started. Every dollar helps us make a difference for children in need.
-
Donate now and follow the link on the thank you page to start your fundraising. If you want this amount to count towards your new group's goal, do not make the donation from someone else's group or fundraising page since they will be credited in their total for that donation.
-
If you have donated through the EPCC website before and have a donation you would like to use towards starting your group, please log in first and you will be able to select that donation on the form when you create your fundraiser.
Donors will receive an email with a log in and instructions on how to activate their accounts. If you didn't activate your account when you received that email, you can do so now -> request password with the email address you used for your donation.
- If you are setting up a page to fundraise for the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program and you have any questions about how to set up your group for your Sister School after reading these steps, please email Stella Kenyi.
Step 2 - Fill in the form with your group's information:
Name your group and set your group's fundraising goal. You can always change this goal later.
You'll have the opportunity to personalize your group with a graphic and mission statement to encourage and inspire others to support your goals. You will also be able to set who can join your group and whether or not they need your permission.
Remember to check “publish” and “save” when you are ready to make your group available for people to see on the website.
Step 3 - Choose donation items to support through your group.
If you are setting up a page to fundraise for the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program, select items with the Darfur Dream Team Logo for the specific school you are supporting. If you have any questions, please email Stella Kenyi.
Regardless of whether you are fundraising through the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program or not, you will be able to check out the partner projects and add them to the list of items your fundraising group will support.
Tips for Adding Donation Items:
Having only one or two can really focus your fundraising efforts, but choose as many as you like.
When you are logged in you will see icons like this
/
under the projects items on the left. Click on the icon to add or remove that item from your page. If you belong to more than one group you can see which group they are for by hovering over the icon.
Step 4 - Invite members or donors:
- If you are fundraising as an individual, you can use the contact tools to send emails to your friends and family asking them to support your work to help educate children of conflict.
- As a group leader you can invite additional team members to set up their own fundraising pages and make your network of supporters even bigger.
- We have some helpful tips on how to make your fundraiser the best it can be - be sure to check them out when you are getting started.
Step 5 - Set up your Personal Fundraising Page
- Like team members, group leaders have personal pages with their own goal amounts, graphics, and messages to inspire their friends and family to get involved.
- Remember to post updates so you can build momentum and let everyone know how your fundraising is going!
